“Lo Scuro” is a PGI Modica dark chocolate with 70% cocoa. In this vegan treat that won the Tavoletta d’Oro (Golden Tablet) award in 2019 there are only two ingredients: cocoa paste and sugar. The cocoa used for this bar is a fair trade organic product. The variety is the Nacional fino de aroma, Slow Food presidium that comes from the Andean area of Pichincha, recognised by UNESCO as a conservation and sustainable development area and declared a Nature Reserve in 2018.
The Moscobado sugar is another exceptional product. Raw, brown and organic, it comes from fair trade producers in the Philippines. It is a notch above all others: slightly moist, dark (hence the name of chocolate) and with an intense aroma, almost reminiscent of licorice. The balance is perfect, the persistence simply extraordinary.
Sabadì produces Sicilian excellences: its Modica chocolate won the Tavoletta d’Oro (Golden Tablet) award for the last 10 years, but the nougats and the organic candies are no less. In Modica and Syracuse, it opened the first cellars for the aging of chocolate in the world. In addition, it cooperates with the Naturale brand in the production of organic wines and selects the best products of small Sicilian farmers and artisans.
