Mackerel fillets by Campisi are processed completely by hand and are obtained from mackerels fished in the Mediterranean Sea and Southern Ionian Sea, where the particularly balanced water salinity confers a rich flavour to the fish flesh.
Mackerel is packed in Sicilian olive oil; this ingredient was carefully chosen to best enhance the great artisan processing methods involved in the making of this delicacy. The only ingredients, apart from fillets of oily fish packed with health benefits - are oil and salt.
The company Campisi is located in Marzamemi. Marzamemi is a village home to many historical tuna fish factories, whose livelihood is thus intertwined with the preservation of seafood products. Mackerel is processed very carefully, in order to obtain compact, firm and soft fillets. Thanks to their perfect consistency and signature flavour, they are ideal as starters, as gourmet sandwich filling or to add a sophisticated touch to delicious salads.
