Organic, Senatore Cappelli whole-grain Maccheroncini – 500gr

Senatore Cappelli is one of the finest Italian ancient grains. It is a rustic and very resistant wheat variety that is characterised by very beautiful wheat ears which can be as tall as 1.80m (5.9ft). The flour obtained from this wheat variety is very flavourful and the wheat germ and bran are kept intact. Organic farming guarantees that the final product is fully natural, genuine, healthy and delicious, too, of course!

This whole-grain pasta has a rich and intense flavour that perfectly pairs with any type of sauce. It would be ideal to choose a sauce that can enhance the flavour of the pasta, without overpowering it. Therefore, it pairs very well with veggie sauces, from a simple fresh tomato sauce to mushrooms and it can also be combined with light pesto sauces with aromatic herbs, especially if they also contain some nuts, pine nuts and hazelnuts.

The Antico Pastificio Morelli pasta factory has been making prime-quality pasta since 1860. This pasta is exceptional, because they use durum wheat semolina that still contains the wheat germ, i.e., the core of the grain, which lends the pasta incredible flavour and scent. They also employ artisan techniques, extruding the pasta through bronze dies, stretching it out by hand and letting it slowly dry at a low temperature. That’s why this pasta is truly one of a kind.
