Redcurrant is a small, evergreen shrub. Its fruits are small, red, glossy berries. They might be small, but they are full of flavour: sweet, slightly sour, fresh and long lasting – an actual explosion of flavour! You can pick fresh redcurrants only in the months of July and August, but don’t worry, we know how to enjoy them all year round.

Redcurrant jam is intense and scented. The jar contains whole berries and a natural and genuine product. Its flavour is intense with a strong, slightly sour note. It cleanses the palate and hence, pairs very well with game meat and fatty, aged cheeses with an intense flavour, such as Provolone or Caciocavallo.

The Si.Gi. farm was born out of the passion of the couple Silvano Buccolini and Giuliana Papa for the forgotten fruits of their land which is located next to Macerata. After having started to grow ancient fruit varieties, Silvano and Giuliana opened a lab where they make the most typical jams and fruit preserves. These jars only contain genuine fruit, simple and natural processing methods, traditional tools and cooking methods - such as boiling in an uncovered pot - and, of course, the flavour of delicacies belonging to a bygone era.
