Spaghetti are the dry pasta shape par excellence, the first thing that comes to mind when we are talking about Italian cuisine. They appear in many movies and cartoons and have now become a worldwide sensation. Their name comes from their shape which resembles a long twine (spago in Italian). Spaghetti were first mentioned back in 1846, making them probably one of the most ancient pasta shapes in history. Spaghetti from Gragnano PGI by the company “Pastificio dei Campi” surely stand out amongst all other spaghetti available on the market.

Firstly because “Pastificio dei Campi” is located in Gragnano which has been an ideal place for pasta production since the 16th century, thanks to its mild and slightly humid climate. Gragnano obtained the protected geographical indication (PGI) certification in 2013, which sets forth rules on pasta production and guarantees absolute quality. Pasta is made only from durum-wheat semolina grown in the company’s fields in Apulia; then it is extruded through bronze dies, leaving a rough pasta surface which best holds onto sauces. Finally, it is left to slowly dry. Spaghetti by “Pastificio dei Campi” are produced entirely in Italy and are fully traceable.

This pasta shape is extremely versatile; you can opt for the great classics, such as spaghetti with tomato sauce, or try out new creative recipes, knowing that you can always count on the excellent quality of your main ingredient - the spaghetti by “Pastificio dei Campi”.
