Although it was originally conceived as a peasant dish, over time the Tuscan “pappa al pomodoro”, a bread and tomato soup, has been reinterpreted even by the greatest chefs. With its simple flavour, this soup tastes like home and genuine food.
To prepare this great classic dish, Le Piagge farm only uses high-quality fresh vegetables, harvested at peak ripeness.
All vegetables are cultivated according to organic farming principles, without using any chemical fertilisers or pesticides. No preservatives and additives are added to the products, so as to preserve the original flavour and fragrance of a homemade freshly-prepared meal.
Taking it out of the jar, the soup may seem lumpy at first, because of the starch in bread. Once you stir it a little bit, the soup will regain its lovely texture and appearance. You can serve it at any temperature you like, with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a sprig of fresh basil, or with some buffalo mozzarella or burrata for a really unique dish.
