These whole prized black truffles are carefully selected and hand-packed in glass jars. Yes, you read that right. Located on the Umbrian hills, next to the city of Spoleto, Alfonso Fortunati Truffles is a wonderful company which still handles truffles by hand, without adding any artificial aroma and only using first-class raw materials requiring a great deal of care and gentleness.
The prized black truffle is also called black truffle from Spoleto, as well as ‘the king of the table’. It is fragrant, aromatic and can be used as an exquisite ingredient to prepare many a dish, more or less sophisticated. As a matter of fact, unlike white truffle, black truffle can be eaten raw or cooked, because its aroma doesn’t fade with high temperatures. Try to shave it on tenderloin or on tagliatelle or try to add it to your meatloaf recipe to kick it up a notch!
